Description
Those who walk the paths of Conceição Farm (re-organized by architect Fernando Távora between 1956 and 1960) might not realise that it keeps in its hill, behind the tall white walls, a public pool and a solarium. This work was made between 1958 and 1965 by architect Álvaro Siza and has the particularity of having been rehabilitated, very recently, faithfully according to the original project. There is an inner life in this public space – a space within a space, a shelter of intimacy, of exposition (solar but not only…) and surely many memories. The topography is the protagonist and the architecture its possibility. It is mandatory to get to know and/or revisit.
